Cause of the emergency appeal:

A devastating 7.8 magnitude earthquake has knocked down multiple buildings in southeast Turkey and Northern Syria. As of 10 Feb 2023, more than 20,000 deaths have been reported in Turkey, while 4,000+ people have died in Syria. The death toll is likely to keep rising.

Help us to provide urgent emergency relief. This could be Turkey’s largest earthquake. Buildings have collapsed, and hundreds are still unaccounted for. It’s feared that they’re trapped among the rubble of their homes and the rescue operation could be hampered by the current snowstorms which are expected to continue until Thursday.
